If you feel adventorous enough then try out the Goan Feni , a local alcohol made from cashews. Also try goan sweet dishes and desserts like Bebinca,sanna and dodol. Bebinca is the best of the lot and you are highly recommended to sample this goan dessert.
Dont expect fancy restaurants in Goa except those in the 4 and 5 star hotels. The best seafood is available at the beach shacks.There are hundreds of beach shacks on the goan beaches and most of serve fresh tasty seafood.

Florentine , Saligao - best known for its chicken cafreal
Other recommended places are Souza Lobos at Calangute ,Brittos at Baga and O'Coqueiros in Porvorim .
All 5 star resorts have restaurants serving tasty local dishes but for the best experience try one of the beach shacks at Calangute or Baga.
